New Geocaching Souvenirs – Celebrating 2 Million Active Geocaches

Geocaching is celebrating the 2 Millionth Active Geocache by rewarding geocachers with more than a dozen previously unreleased Geocaching Souvenirs. Souvenirs are digital post cards for your profile. You earn a souvenir by finding a geocache in a specific country, like Spain. The virtual pieces of art are displayed on your Geocaching profile page, as well as on the Geocaching iPhone, Android and Windows Phone 7 apps.

Geocaching will release five souvenirs shortly after the 2 Millionth Active Geocaches is reached. We’ll release five Geocaching Souvenirs each work day until all previously unreleased souvenirs are available to geocachers. After all the souvenirs are released no more state or regional souvenirs are planned. Nearly a hundred souvenirs already exist! What about Cuba? I logged a cache there, and got no souvenir – there should be one made for Cuba if there isn’t already one in the works!!!

It doesn’t matter which font is used, it looks gothic. And somehow I don’t think any Dutch cacher has been asked for advice – a flower shop as souvenir is very orginal (not).

Thank you so much for your reply which i have only just noticed i have posted this suggestion over on the geocaching GS forum, under ‘Continue releasing Country based souvenirs’
Could you repply to the post in there, or would you be happy for me to copy and paste your reply into that forum please? i would not do it without your permission.

PS someone on the forum posted a link and said the GS did not want geocachers creating artwork for souvenirs due to they may put hidden messages or links in the artwork. – is this the case? i thought you would be able to lock a souvenir picture somehow so thee would be no chance of this happpening. It would be great if you could clatify this for us please?

Working non-stop in Riga, Latvia for 10 days. Barely got away to successfully find a cache. Logged it, but still no souvenir. Why? I luv the one for Latvia. Just gotta have it…..
