I am totally completely honored ! The icon makes me want to cry (okay y'all knew Id work crying in there someplace) And the coin gets me all excited but after this weekend at what VaTechnoTeacher called my "MEGA mistake" ((lol)) I am even more certain that this game is about numbers ! It's about the number of friends on your phone who will run to your aid if you break down on a mountain in the back woods butt crack of no place who will get in their cars with nothing but a set of coordinates and find you to help you out of a mess. Its about the number friends you make along the journey. This weekends kickoff event for the Hatfield McCoy GeoTrail that SpongeBob CachePants and myself have worked to put together over the last 6 weeks was a lone undertaking in our minds. We designed the coin with love and care for every tiny detail. But come Friday morning the day of the event I woke up to realize that 517 people were coming because they wanted to be part of a number larger than me. Geocaching has changed my life forever. Its not about the tupperware. Its about a group of cachers from Florida who show up at your door and say "You planned it for 6 weeks, you invited everyone, now we got it...Go be the host" and they give up their geocaching adventure to do the physical work needed to be done to accommodate 517 guests from 18 states. I have gained far more from geocaching than I ever gave. There is no way that I can accept this honor without the mention of those who have worked so hard this week....SpongeBob CachePants (who is not bad for a boy), Michelle, Robert, Brian, Warren, Marie, Melissa, Ray, Kelly & Kandis, Gurphamily, Patrick, Bob & Mary, You all totally Rock and are certainly worthy of Geocachers of the Month awards. If groundspeak would let me give a favorite point to a geocacher instead of just a geocache....YOU WOULD ALL GET FAVORITE POINTS FROM ME :) Thanks to both of the men who were nominated with me, I look forward to caching with you both in the coming years.
