Lisdowney!

I met Arnie and Gerry at a caching event in roughly my second month of caching. They made the time to talk to me and make me feel at home. I subsequently was in contact with Arnie over many puzzles and caches. This paved the way to what remains to be my favorite day of caching to date when we drove north to Tomogamy Ontario to do a series of older 5/5 caches. I must admit I did not know Arnie that well when we left to drive up north but he was as good as an old friend by the time we got home.:-) he turned 8+ hours of driving into an amazing experience where we swapped stories and he gave me the history of caching. I still turn to Arnie for advice on a regular basis. Both Arnie and Gerry are willi to lend a hand whenever possible. I was extatic to see a nomination for Lisdowney. It is very well deserved and they most defiantly have my vote.

Please, please, please....pay attention!  Gsix5666 is one of those people who not only challenge and amuse, but he is also one of the most stand up people I know. He has put out hundreds of amazing and interesting caches. The cache pages are well thought out and are both challenging and fun. He has had series of many kinds, including Presidents, the wives of the Presidents, puzzles to boggle and fascinate, funny stories and great challenges. Long hikes and short park and grabs...and everything in between. He hosts a New Years event that brings dozens of us out at the crack of dawn (ok...that's 8am to some of you, but dawn to me), and he puts together a list of a multitude of brand new caches for all of us to play with, spreading us over many miles so that everyone has a chance to grab a New Years FTF, and encourages us all to go and have fun with it...complete with a handout full of opportunities.Â
Once when I was struggling with a certain cache, he and several others of us gave it a good hour of work...and when it looked like perhaps this was not on land but in water...he sacrificed himself to leap in for all of us on dry land. (We did cheer for him). We did not find it, but we did nearly fall in laughing. And not one complaint when we walked back to the cars...with him dripping wet in the cold air. I was shivering watching him.Â
He's that kind of guy. Â Â
He deserves a win like this and I know that many would agree.Â
Please consider Gsix5666. Â
I like him and I know that you would too....
