On Saturday April 30th I helped introduce geocaching to the local Girlscouts of Northwest Kansas. I hide 5 containers filled with Girlscout swag. I had a group of about 9 girls taught them all about CITCO, the rules and codes of geocaching, how to use the gps and finally we ventured out to find the caches. It was so much fun and the girls really enjoyed it. I was thrilled to learn that Girlscouts now offer a badge for Geocaching. I was honored to be the one who could educate and inform the leaders and the Girls and participate in the first step to expanding our lovely game into the world of scouting!
